You can also browse the weekly specials at PUBLIX and Bi-Lo by searching their online websites, rather than chasing down their fliers from a newspaper or stopping by the store... You may have already known that, but thought I'd share with you what I just found today... ;)

Hilary, Ruthie introduced me to your blog~ about saving on groceries, I've found that the most overlooked way for us to save is by using LESS of things we thoughtlessly use... like do you need a huge glob of toothpaste or can you use half as much and still get the job done? A palmfull of shampoo or a quarter or dime sized ammount? This sounds REALLY stingy, but if baby's just wet, I tear my wipes in half (his heiny is still so little!) and it works just as well. This doesn't always work, and doesn't always work with edible groceries, because food is food and we need to eat. But as opposed to scrambling around to get a deal on expendables like paper towels and soap, it just seems to be easier to use less.

Hey Hilary -

Definitely check out the bulk clubs - we found BJ's to have a huge selection of baby stuff, including the Annie's organic mac and cheese that Emma loves for a great deal. We try to go organic where we can. The BJ's up here also has organic milk for a good price. We currently belong to Sam's Club, but are going to do a BJ's membership too. Jay's parents belong to Costco - the most expensive of the 3 major bulk clubs to join and most expensive items. Sam's is the cheapest membership and prices and BJ's is a close second. Diapers and wipes are definitely cheaper at Sam's. If you have Target near you, check their prices out too - the ones up here are expanding their grocery section and we have found ourselves getting a lot of our groceries there for better prices than the grocery store. Target also has a pretty nice selection of organic items. It was so good to see you guys! Love the cat and the hat pictures!
